Been thinking that you could use more vampires and other monsters in your TV-watching diet? Not really. Been pining for Josh Hartnett, oh he of Pearl Harbor fame? Nope, me either. But Showtime is here to give us everything we didn’t want, wrap it up in a sexy, Victorian-era bow, and hope we like it anyway. Enter Penny Dreadful, a supernatural horror series created by Sam Mendes. The cast includes the aforementioned Hartnett plus the lovely Eva Green, Billie Piper and Timothy Dalton, and the show trailer is moody and creepy. The first episode is available to stream for free on Hulu, in hopes that you’ll be hooked enough to splurge for Showtime on cable. Check it out and let me know what you think.
